Master of Science in Public Health (M.P.H.)The Master of Science in Public Health is a 60 quarter hour, 15-course program with three areas of concentration: Health Planning, Health Policy, and Environmental Health. The M.P.H. program focuses on public health areas such as epidemiology, education, administration, ethics, and financial management.
Master of Science in Geriatric Health (M.G.H.)
The Master of Science in Geriatric Health is a 33 quarter hour, 11-course program that prepares individuals for long-term care management of healthcare facilities for the elderly, and other social and economic impacts of a long-term care professional.
Master of Science in Health Administration (M.H.A.)
The Master of Science in Health Administration is an 11-course, 33 quarter hour program that is tailored to the needs of the healthcare leader/manager by providing coursework in areas such as leadership, law and ethics, information systems, epidemiology, and human resource management.
Master of Science in Human Movement (M.S.H.M.)
The Human Movement program is a partnership program with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). The M.S.H.M. program is a 42 quarter hour degree and consists of 30 credits in the core area and 12 credits in the concentration area of Performance Enhancement & Corrective Exercise Track. M.S.H.M. course offerings include courses in Exercise Science, Functional Biomechanics, Evidence Based Practice, Integrated Training and Injury Prevention, and Result-Focused Corrective Exercise Program Design.
Doctor of Health Education (D.H.Ed.)
The D.H.Ed. degree is a 60 to 116 quarter hour program (12-23 courses) depending on prior education. Concentrations include: Leadership; Research; Teaching; and Medical Education. This program is targeted at those individuals responsible for day-to-day problem identification and resolution within their organizations. Potential candidates include those individuals who have impact on student/staff success from a president to healthcare administrators and faculty.
Master of Science in Advanced Physician Assistant Studies (M.S.)
This 40 quarter hour program is for the licensed physician assistant. For the PA without a bachelor’s degree, a non-bachelor degree track is available. The program offers three areas of concentration: family and emergency medicine, forensic medicine, and education and leadership. Graduates of the program will have demonstrated a competence in their respective specialty area along with a strong academic foundation that enhances their ability to practice in a varied clinical and administrative setting.
Master of Science in Advanced Occupational Therapy Studies (M.S.)
This 42 quarter hour program is for U.S. licensed occupational therapists who wish to learn about current issues and new procedures in the O.T. field. In this program, the student will focus on areas including critical thinking, issues in mental health, legislation, and evidence-based practice.
Transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy (D.P.T.)
The transitional D.P.T. program is designed for practicing physical therapists already holding a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree who wish to enhance their skills and professional status. The length of each student’s program of study depends upon their current level of education, experience, and skills as defined by the American Physical Therapy Association’s “Normative Model of Physical Therapist Professional Education, Version 2000” and a possible evaluation using the Physical Therapist Evaluation Tool (PTET).
