Great tips, and changing careers (especially to one in a related field) doesn't have to be as hard as it sounds. One of the great things about online training classes and online education is that you can quickly gain the knowledge and skills needed to prepare you for that career change. Gone are the days where you had to wait 4+ years, (or even 18 - 24 months) to enhance current skills or learn new ones. With the variety of online learning resources out there, you can quickly learn about various aspects of industries like marketing and put your new knowledge to use immediately.

As a side note, showing hiring managers (or your current boss) that you frequently take online classes to improve yourself could put you at the top of their list when certain projects need to get done. The more dependable and dedicated you appear, the better your chances for promotions and the like!
